Today at 2 pm EST, the #federalreserve will announce its decision on interest rates. Big banks forecasts are split between 50 and 75 bps #ratehike. The difference between both appears to be inmaterial, but as the cartoon below suggests, the market interpretation seems to be that if they don’t hike enough, #inflation will not be contained, and if they go too fast, they’ll push the economy into #recession. The press conference after the metting will be very important to clarify the #Fed view on the economy as a hint of future #ratehikes pace.
