US vs the world

The last week of the year starts today, and that means, among other things, investors will be repositioning their portfolios for the new year if they haven’t already done so. Will it be about the magnificent seven again? What sectors should you favor? Does it make sense to have a currency play? Will 2024 be the year of #crypto with the birth of cash ETFs in just a few days? For the last 10 years, investing out of the U.S. has been a mistake as you can see in the chart below. The U.S. dollar has maintained a position of relative strength against majors, Europe and Japan have not delivered consistent returns, and Emerging markets have not been able to perform, as their commodity based economies have suffered from a hawkish Fed. From the valuation standpoint, Non US markets seem attractive, but will that be enough to attract flows?
