Inflation vs truflation

There is an alternative measure of inflation, calculated by truflation.com that supposedly uses an enhanced methodology without the correncting factors the #bls uses on the official #cpi. According to #trueflation, a more realistic cpi yoy growth for the month of June is 2.23%, right on target with the fed, and almost half of what the official calculation would print. Utilities, Transport and Housing had the highest impact on the headline number, and it seems to indicate further reduction lies ahead. Of course, for practical matters, this alternative calculation is irrelevant, because the #federalreserve will use the oficial number to determine #moneyarypolicy, however, it could turn out to be a good predictor of the actual direction and pace of inflation. Same methodology for the UK yields an 11.1% cpi YoY.
